The overall export unit value index increased by 11.8% and the overall import unit value index rose by 23.4% in September, compared to the same month last year, according to the Turkish Statistical Institute. The overall export unit value index for food, beverages and tobacco increased by 7.6%, for crude materials (excluding fuels) by 24.6%, for fuels by 75.2%, and for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) by 10.2%. The overall import unit value index surged by 20.2%, 62.2%, 65.3% and 18.5% for food, beverages and tobacco, crude materials (except fuels), fuels and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco), respectively. The overall export volume index increased by 16.3%, while the overall import volume index dropped by 9.2% in September, year over year. The overall export volume index rose by 10.8%, 22.4%, 23.0% and 16.9% 10.8% for food, beverages and tobacco, 22.4% for crude materials (except fuels), 23.0% for fuels, and 16.9% for manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco).. The overall import volume index surged for food, beverages and tobacco by 38.6%, for fuels by 0.2% and manufactured goods (except food, beverages and tobacco) by 0.1%, while it decreased for crude materials (except fuels) by 10.5%.
